KIM DALE: CHILDREN'S AUTHOR & ILLUSTRATOR

Tasmanian based best selling author/illustrator Kim Dale is a wildlife carer and passionate champion of Australian wildlife. Her popular picture books include what Am I?, Eyes in the Dark, Bush Babies (both shortlisted for the CBCA Eve Pownall Award) Kim Dale Collection, Little Tawny and Moon Bear Rescue.

Her first book published in 1999 WHAT AM I? was a lift-the-flap or gatefold guessing-game book for preschool children based on Australian animals, all beautifully illustrated in their natural habitats. This book was shortlisted for the Wilderness Society Environment Award for Children's Literature.

Her following two books were well received by children and adults alike. Kim was shortlisted for the Children's Book Council of Australia Awards (CBCA Awards) for EYES IN THE DARK, in 2002 and BUSH BABIES in 2003.
